How to be popular in high school?

I'm in cheerleading so that should help, I was planning on joining a lot of clubs like theator choir, and be nice to a lot of ppl i wanna make my years of high school fun, I'm starting my fishy year next year, I really wanna be more nice and helpful so when people see me they'll recognize me as that kind of person and ill get smiles in the hallway, and lots of ppl saying hi to me so any other good advice?
