How do i sing in front of people?

Ok so I'm 14 almost 15 years old and I love to sing more than almost anything. But I'm scared to sing in front of people especially my friends because I'm scared to emberass myself if I suck. I sang for a solo for a choir competition and got one of the highest scores in my highschool, this is freshman year. That's a different kind of singing though. What do I do?
